Say "I DO" in Doo-Dops!
About Our Business
This is a fun home based business developed to help support our
family as I have transitioned from a mechanical engineer and
woodworker to a full time stay at home mom of two little ones.
History: I designed and made my own wedding shoes when I married my
hubby in 2002. Then, I wore sneakers as they seemed appropriate since I
had run track and field all through high school and college.
After moving to California in 2000, I had just about given up all my regular
shoes in exchange for flip-flops. I love them!
Now that I have moved back to NJ to be closer to family (now that ours is
growing), I still love my flip flops and just created a pair of wedding flip flops
for my sister-in-law to-be! That spawned my desire and drive to create this
new venture.
Today: I have designed a very nice pair of flip flops, a quality canvas
upper, a soft microsuede insole and a durable rubber bottom. I then
embellish these flip-flops into beautiful Wedding Doo-Dops!
Why Doo-Dops and not Flip-Flops?
I have a little 3 year old girl whose name is Maggie. When learning to talk
and trying to find my shoes, she was calling, "Mommy's Flip-Flops where are
you?" But, it sounded much more like "Mommy Doo-Dops, are you?" So,
flip-flops in our home have become known as Doo-Dops! And, it makes for
a fun product name.
My hubby even helped with our slogan, "Say "I Do" in Doo-Dops!
So, this is truly a family venture...my 15 month old son just doesn't quite
know how to play in it...yet!
